Ynvisible manufactures ultra-low-power, thin and flexible, printed e-paper displays. These low-power displays consume minimal energy, making them an ideal solution for a wide range of smart, sustainable, and innovative applications.
Ynvisible’s e-paper display technology is based on electrochromism, an ultra-low-power technology designed for energy-efficient visual indicators. Unlike traditional LCDs or OLEDs, electrochromic displays consume only a fraction of the power, making them ideal for applications requiring medium-frequency switching—where updates happen several times per hour or day rather than continuously.
An example of a medium-frequency switching application would be smart labels, electronic shelf labels (ESLs), or IoT status indicators, where information such as battery status, shipment progress, or sensor readings needs to be updated periodically without excessive power drain.
These energy-efficient displays consume just 1.67 µW/cm², making them one of the most sustainable display technologies available. Maintaining a static image requires only 1–2 µW/cm², while the display consumes no energy when the controller is in sleep mode. By leveraging these ultra-low-power displays, you can achieve a fully autonomous solution that operates on a single coin-cell battery, such as a CR2032, for over 10 years, eliminating the need for frequent battery replacements.
To turn the e-paper display ON, a pulse in the range of 1.0V to 1.5V is applied. To turn it OFF, a pulse of the same magnitude is applied with the opposite polarity.

Ynvisible’s ultra-low-power e-paper displays are used in various form factors and applications, including smart labels, industrial indicators, and large-format digital signage. Depending on the application, these low-power displays can be powered in multiple ways:
Thanks to their ultra-low energy consumption, Ynvisible’s e-paper displays can replace power-hungry traditional displays and enable new applications, such as:
Smart Labels – E-paper displays can be integrated into devices used for intelligent packaging, authenticity tags for high-value products, devices that monitor products across the supply chain, or expiration date labels that provide users with real-time status on the foods or even drugs.
Smart Indicators – Energy-efficient displays developed by Ynvisible can be used to track and show important information in different industrial settings such as maintenance schedules, to indicate battery status, danger alerts or convey important safety messages.
Smart Cards & Wearables – Ultra-low-power displays are a good fit for wearable badges, smart access cards, medical patches, or fitness trackers, enabling real-time health and performance tracking.
Large Digital Displays – Ynvisible can develop low-power e-paper displays for solutions for public transportation schedules, parking signs, emergency response equipment, dynamic retail pricing displays, direction signs and more, that can be used both outdoors and in bright indoors environments, thanks to the displays being reflective.
Smart Home/Office Devices – Sustainable e-paper displays can replace traditional displays in smart thermostats, smart home controllers that display security system status, meeting room booking displays, electricity consumption meters with always-on e-paper screens for real-time monitoring and more.
Ynvisible’s ultra-low-power e-paper displays offer a sustainable, energy-efficient alternative to traditional display technologies. With minimal power consumption, flexibility, and easy integration, they unlock new possibilities across retail, industrial, supply chain, logistics, healthcare and more.
As industries continue to prioritize energy efficiency and sustainability, e-paper displays will play a crucial role in enabling smarter, more cost-effective solutions. Whether for smart labels, indicators or digital signage, Ynvisible’s technology is paving the way for the future of low-power, eco-friendly displays.
